Telling the Time

This week we have been learning how to tell the time.

All of the children have worked on reading clock faces for o'clock, half past, quarter to, and quarter past times. Some of the children have moved on to telling the time to five minute intervals (which is the expectation for children at the end of Year 2).

We have played 'Time Bingo' to start recognising o'clock times.

We have used mini clocks to help us read times from the clock faces.

 We have drawn the hands onto a clock face to show a given time.

Telling the time is a skill that children can find quite tricky to master! Any extra practice they can get at home will really help them to meet their end of year expectations, so please keep asking them to tell you the time!
