In our Maths lessons this week we have been looking at how surveys are conducted and how data is used to make block graphs and ask / answer questions. After practicing by looking at which eye colour is the most common in Year 2, we went to the Year 1 classes to find out which traditional tales are the most popular.
We have also started designing model houses based on those featured in traditional tales. Our plan is to build them in our DT lessons over the next few weeks. We have started to think about how to keep safe while using wood work tools, including wearing safety goggles and keeping our fingers away from the cutting edges of the saws.
Some of the children have already started to saw the wood they will need to build their frame.

There are no spellings this week, but please can you refresh your child's memory of their 2, 5, and 10 times tables:
1 x 2 = 2
2 x 2 = 4
3 x 2 = 6
4 x 2 = 8
5 x 2 = 10
6 x 2 = 12
7 x 2 = 14
8 x 2 = 16
9 x 2 = 18
10 x 2 = 20

1 x 5 = 5
2 x 5 = 10
3 x 5 = 15
4 x 5 = 20
5 x 5 = 25
6 x 5 = 30
7 x 5 = 35
8 x 5 = 40
9 x 5 = 45

1 x 10 = 10
2 x 10 = 20
3 x 10 = 30
4 x 10 = 40
5 x 10 = 50
6 x 10 = 60

Children are expected to know the 2, 5 and 10 times tables by the end of Year 2 and should also be able to use them to work out division facts e.g. 70÷10=7.
