Olympian Visit

On Thursday we were treated to a visit by Pete Waterfield, the British diver and Olympic silver medalist.
In a special assembly we were shown how to perform some of the somersaults that form part of competitive diving routines. The children were fascinated and really inspired, although they were warned not to try the moves at home!

While in school Mr Waterfield also helped the children to master four exercises, spotty dogs, leg drives, press-ups and star jumps. When the children came to write recounts of their afternoon and spoke of being particularly excited about seeing real medals and being able to ask questions about what it is like to be in the Olympics!
