Great final week for the half term at Pennington Infant School.
The Junipers and the Rowans have been incredibly busy all week, researching from the information provided by adults both at home in school. They have learnt to research from non-fiction books, Power Point presentations and from other adult led information.
On Tuesday and Thursday we were fortunate enough to have family to school days! Tuesday's session involved our parents comming in to help the children research and then enjoy a music lesson.
Thursday however was different, the children were split into their two base classes and we explored ballons with Mr Butcher or watched the Shadow Puppet performance in the hall.
Mr Butcher, Mrs Gosney, Mrs Davies and myself along with teaching assistants and parents helped the children to race ballons following the story of "Pig can fly".
We explore different sizes of ballons, different sizes of straws and having them in different positions to race them along fish wire, string, thread etc.
The children had the following commments to make:
"It was really fun! My ballon was the fastest(ist)" - Bethany Y2
"My ballon went zoomed down wire" - Jasper Y1.
Reading the parent review forms, we can summarise that the Parent to school week was a huge success!Great work to all involved!
