Happy Holidays!
The children have
been working extremely hard in Year 2 and have earned a good Christmas break. To
help with this we are not setting a home learning project as we did for
half-term. Instead we are setting a challenge that will help them with Maths in
January, when we will be learning to tell the time. From Year 1 children are
expected to already know o’clock times, with the next step being to read times
to the nearest 15 minutes (o’clock, quarter past, half past, and quarter to).
To reach the Greater Depth standard children are required to read 5-minute
intervals (7:35, 12:10 etc). Our challenge is for the children to come back to
school in January with an increased ability to tell the time.
