Visual Literacy

We have spent this week doing our literacy lessons without the use of a book. We have found that you can get just as much story from a picture.
For example we have been looking at Experiment on a Bird in the Airpump by Joseph Wright of Derby.

Do ask the children what they can tell you about this picture and what is going on in this very impressive scene.
